Wellness Care begins with a complete physical exam followed by appropriate lab testing depending upon what life stage your pet is in. Puppies and kittens require periodic fecal exams for GI parasites, as well as simple blood testing for heartworms in 6 month and older dogs, and Feline Leukemia testing in kittens and older cats. Older dogs and cats benefit greatly from more extensive blood testing for kidney and liver diseases. Monitoring your pets medications and blood chemistry values is especially important in Older,” Senior”, pets so they can have quality of life in their golden years. All these tests can be run in our In-House Lab while you wait just a few minutes for the results.

Just as you see the dentist on a regular basis, you must remember “Pets have teeth too”. Periodontal Disease is one of the most common mouth ailments we treat in our practice. Dr. Porter has a special interest in small animal dentistry and she is always happy to talk with you about your pets oral health and will perform a free dental consult.
Our PHARMACY is well stocked with veterinary medications and prescription diets for those pets requiring a special need for life long disease states such as Diabetes, Kidney Failure, Lower Urinary Tract Disease and Gastro-Intestinal ailments as well as skin, joint and hair coat problems. We stock Nestle’s Purina line of prescription diets as well as Hills Science Diet prescription pet foods.

We can take x-rays of all size dogs, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. In house development of films is fast and efficient. Most pets require a mild sedative for diagnostic radiographs.
